Scripture for Today

Proverbs 18:20 From the fruit of a man's mouth his stomach is satisfied;
he is satisfied by the yield of his lips. (ESV)

One day, a boy was walking down a road when a frog called to him, “Boy, if you kiss me, I will turn into a beautiful princess.”
The boy picked up the frog, smiled at it, then placed the frog into his pocket. A few minutes later, the frog said, “Boy, if you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, and I will stay with you for a week.”
The boy took the frog from his pocket, smiled at it, then put it back into his pocket. A few minutes later, the frog said, “Boy, if you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will do ANYTHING you want!”
The boy took the frog from his pocket, smiled, and put it back. Finally, the frog cried, “Boy, what is the matter, I have told you that I am a beautiful princess, and if you kiss me, I will stay with you and do ANYTHING you want!”
The boy took the frog from his pocket and said, “Look, I am an engineering student, I have no time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog is cool!”

Our spoken words go a long way in affecting the quality of our lives. The word we speak are very effective and powerful even more than we can imagine. The change we need or crave for in our lives can be gotten just if we can speak the word. God made us understand that his word doesn't come back to him void until it accomplishes its purpose.  The Bible tells us that we are god's.

Since we are god's our words don't just go as just words they have the power to effect change in our entire lives. The more you meditate on the word of God the more of his words we get to speak. The more we meditate on the economic situations, the wickedness in the world and all the bad things all around the more we are likely to speak words that don't edify us and others.

For ever word we speak we shall give account so, let our words be seasoned with salt and give life to the world. Let our spoken words give us life even in a dead situation. Let our words give us the faith to go on in life no matter how we seem to have given up on life.

Prayer: Father, help me speak words that bring life unto myself and others.
