Scripture for Today

Matthew 18:1-4 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? [2] And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, [3] And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. [4] Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

I believe the disciples who came to Jesus asking such a question felt they automatically had a chance to being be greatest in God's kingdom. What a shock they must have had after they got His reply.

Its needful we know that if our hearts is right it would be easy to lead a life of obedience and absolute surrender to God's precepts. Thats simply who a child is. Imagine the ease with which a child listens and obeys and the ingenuity of his heart. A child knows not unforgiveness, malice, anger et all.
Children have the innocence to forgive, to let go,to even move on as fast as possible. Children take sorry for sorry they believe everything their parents tell them.

Little children obey and sometimes they disobey but once they are corrected they take corrections in good faith. As adults, let's look at the life of little children and accept the gospel of the kingdom just like that.

Ask God to give you the heart of an innocent child. Remember it is from the heart that everything takes root.

Prayer: Father, give me the heart that everything takes root.
