Scripture for Today

Matthew 1:19 And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. (ESV)

Our God is a God of peace and he has challenged us to live a life of peace and quietness. Joseph was engaged to be married to Mary and Gbam! She was pregnant. I can imagine all the questions running through his mind when he asks her who got her pregnant and she says THE HOLYSPIRIT.

It would have made headlines in most blogs and magazines if he had reacted the way so many of us react to changes in our original plan in relationships. I see Christians who have issues in relationships come online and let it all out. Imagine if Joseph had let it all out without thinking so much about it. What would have been the fate of Mary.

God has called us to live a life of peace and quietness. We should shame someone because they have made an obvious mistake or have hurt you badly. God is aware of the hurt and the pain therefore he will take care of you. He works out his perfect plan even out of lives mess. He is working on everything about us so we should just hand him the shovel and hands up. Joseph is a good example of a man who was faces with obvious disappointment and still made a point of duty not to put her to shame.
Are you willing to see God is every situation?! Are you willing to let issues of disappointment not tear you down? Be a noble person just like Joseph.

Prayer: Father, help me live life just like Joseph.
