THERE IS NO CONDEMNATION

Scripture for today

Romans 8:1 AMP

THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. [John 3:18.]

Alexander III was Tsar of Russia from 1881-1894. His rule was marked by repression, and in particular by persecution of Jews. His wife, Maria Fedorovna, provided a stark contrast, being known for her generosity to those in need. On one occasion her husband had signed an order consigning a prisoner to life in exile. It read simply  “Pardon impossible, to be sent to Siberia.” Maria changed that prisoners life by moving the comma in her husband’s order. She altered it to “Pardon, impossible to be sent to Siberia.”

In Christ God has changed the comma that stood against us. From “Pardon impossible, send to Siberia” comes the good news of salvation: “Pardon, impossible to send to Siberia.”

I remember so many times I had fallen into the same sexual temptation over and over again.  And each time I make a resolve never to do it again by the power of Christ in me I just seem to fumble. Guilt will overpowered me so much I would feel I don't deserve mercy and pardon from God.  I would say sometimes,  "I could have just have walked away! But no girl, you messed up again!" Guilt sometimes would make me not to pray as I ought to or even study the word as I should.

All I didn't understand was the power of grace. I tried my best to do everything according to the law reducing the power of grace that should be at work within me.  The devil worked really hard to make me feel worthless and undeserving. Are you like me? You fall again and again and feel you shouldn't be pardoned. Jesus says,  He doesn't condemn you.  If you could save yourself he wouldn't have died upon the cross.

Prayer: Father, I receive your grace not to condemn myself.

  1. This is maiming a lot of people...doing everything according to law and feeling worthless. I used to do that! Every little sin or error, I would condemn myself and cry for mercy 100 times literally. I would promise heaven and earth not to do and end up doing and then condemning myself.
Funny thing is this, when you learn of the power of grace, you have more strength to resist sin!
    Great post.
