COMMITMENT OVER COMFORT

Scripture for today

Ruth 1:16 AMP
And Ruth said, Urge me not to leave you or to turn back from following you; for where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people and your God my God.

When Ruth was making this statement I doubt if she knew what was ahead of her.  The future looked very unsure and uncertain for her.  So why didn't she go back to where she was coming from? You know sometimes it's safer to go back to your comfort zone,  a routine you are so used to, people you are used to and just where you are very comfortable. She rather decided to take the risk and choose commitment over comfort.

Sometimes we are mislead by comfort, we think everything will fall into place when we are in a place we are used to.  Ruth choose to be faithful, she was willing to endure the hardship, and momentary sorrow for a while. Sorrows don't last long neither does hardship. God is willing to take care of you if you can only step out in faith.
Faithfulness to the course that God has laid in your heart is a key to being blessed beyond measures by God.

Another lesson from Ruth is in the process of helping others we get healed. Our help comes most times when we are helping others. Naomi was in deep pain and sorrow, she even called herself bitter but Ruth was positive and faithful.

Prayer: Father, help me to be faith in commitment to help others.
