GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK!

Scripture for today

Matthew 22:39 But there is a second to set alongside it: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.' (Msg)

Yesterday's post struck the very cords of my heart. I knew that was just me so many years back. What so many people never know is that a lot of people are struggling with loving themselves. I used to have that struggle especially when everybody around me seem to be better, prettier or richer. I was skinny, not too many friends, not getting comments on being pretty, I was just there. So many times I thought about suicide, I would be walking past a bridge I would feel like falling inside.  You know self hatred happens more to perfectionist. People who feel they should act in a certain way, do things in a certain way or even have certain expectations for themselves. Once they fall short of such expectations, hatred steps in.

As humans we need to have a little self compassion on ourselves. Why kill yourself over things you simply can't change? You know we feel our lives should be in a kind of way, we should act in a kind of way but that is according to the standard of the flesh and world. If you could save yourself Jesus wouldn't die for you. So many times in the past  I would wonder why I made this mistake or that mistake. Which will make me hate me and generally not get along with myself. Most of the battle to love yourself happens in the mind.

Remember you are who you believe you are. If you believe you can overcome just anything thing including your personal battles then you will.  If you believe you will love yourself more than ever daily then you will.  Be your best friend, talk to yourself the way a dear friend will talk to you.  Pamper yourself,  have compassion on your self. Ultimately give yourself a break. We all make mistakes, we are not all perfect from birth, we don't have perfect families or plans, we are just hopeful everyday.

Love you, celebrate you, you deserve the best no Matter who you are, what you have and where you are from but ultimately Jesus loves you.

Prayer: Father, I make a decision to love me daily.
