HE LOOKS BEYOND YOUR FLAWS

LOVE LETTERS|DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR SINGLES|DAY 200

Scripture for today

Luke 7:37-38 AMP

And behold, a woman of the town who was an especially wicked sinner, when she learned that He was reclining at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment (perfume). And standing behind Him at His feet weeping, she began to wet His feet with [her] tears; and she wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed His feet [affectionately] and anointed them with the ointment (perfume).

She was described as a wicked sinner, how terrible was she? She is one of those people you will never want to have anything to do with, she wasn't just one of the worst sinners ever. She was paid for a short term service with men, she didn't see the need for love she obviously was a sex addict who never valued herself. Let's about it this way, maybe she has committed abortions too. She definitely wasn't a saint and among sinners  she was a wicked one. Some may wonder what God has to do with such a woman but the truth remains that God doesn't look at your past. He looks beyond the wicked and heartless you. He looks at who you are created to be not who you are.

If you have a negative past and a lot of people knew about it, the truth is its difficult for them to see you beyond your past. They still misjudge your actions but that is not how God sees us no matter how dirty and rotten we are. He doesn't judge us by our past actions he judges us from a perspective of pure and true love. If you take a tour around your Bible, God used people because of their readiness and love for never because of their own actions.

Prayer: Father, help me see myself the way you see me.
